At BSC, we rely heavily on Excel and the multimillion dollar solutions like SAP and PLM. Between these, a huge technology chasm exists. We fill that chasm with technology that is customized to provide value where you need it.

Our team is small but mighty. In two years we have accomplished a lot with only 3.5 people. But we've only begun our journey to continue to fill the technology chasm and making lives better at BSC. There is still much work for us to do!

While our capabilities and experience is vast, we WILL NOT consider opportunities that have specific criteria. These are best left to the experts in IT.

Patient or Physician Facing

Patient or Physician facing applications or tools are best left to the IT teams.
HIPPA/PHI

Our apps will NOT interact with or store Patient Health Information (PHI) or HIPPA data.
Reportable Financial Data (SOx)

Financial Data reportable to any governing body is out of our scope.

Software as a Medical Device (SAMD)

Our apps will NOT interact with or be stored on a medical device.
Device History Record (DHR/DQR)

Our apps will NOT store information considered to be DHR/DQR - for this, there is the existing PLM system.
Write Access to Existing Enterprise Solutions (SAP/PLM/MES/Salesforce)

We cannot maintain write access for these systems. We have readonly access to many existing systems to consolidate data but we can't send it back.

How much does it cost to build a web application?

We are typically 10x less than an external vendor. The exact cost will depend on the project scope. A typical project ranges from $15k-60k. This covers routine maintenance and bug fixing. Additional iterations and enhancements are extra.
How much time does it take to build a web application?

The time needed to build a web application depends on project scope. Typically our projects are built within 3-7 months.
How do I work with the Simple Apps Team? What is needed from me/my team?

If you have an idea, let’s chat! The first step is to gain alignment with your team on the project scope. Ideally, management support and funding are already secured and approved. However, we can start working with you at any time. Having a documented process flow (current and future state) can help expedite our process.
What is the Simple Apps Team process for creating a web application?

Our process is based around iteration and extracting maximum value. It is NOT a set in stone, one size fits all process. Click here to view our general phases. We often float in between phases as we learn and uncover more needs/requirements/opportunities to provide value.
What happens after a web application is launched?

We continue to support your web application throughout the Sustaining phase. Bugs are addressed immediately and enhancements are prioritized as needed.
What if my application requires validation?

We have a few apps that have gone through a validation process. If your application will require validation, please let us know as soon as possible as this does increase scope, time, and cost.
Do you work with Tableau or Power BI to create dashboards?

We typically build customized dashboards specific to our customer's needs. This often means a build from scratch, but that doesn't mean we can't integrate or utilize Tableau or Power BI if that is the preference and the solution that will provide the most value.
Can you help me with my project?

We've worked on projects from a static promotional website to harnessing multiple datasets into a repository fueling a dashboard to complex assessment tracker web applications, and almost everything in between.
