Components is a web application built to showcase internal BSC technologies and capabilities so that NPD/VIP teams check internal options before resorting to go to external vendors to provide component parts. The site provides information on specific technologies which aid or are used in manufacturing components along with examples which represent the spectrum of capabilities (does not include full list of components this mfg. area produces to minimize site maintenance needed by SMEs (subject matter experts)) . Content is maintained entirely by the BSC teams and associated SME globally who have capabilities in these technologies.
Components website facilitates connections across BSC by providing a platform where NPD/VIP team members can find and engage with internal engineering groups before going to external vendors, reducing the business to external vendors and taking advantage of existing infrastructure leading to increase quality and project/BSC savings which in turn aligns to company goals for funding future growth.
